Arson / Insurance Fraud / Fire Investigation
The science of fire investigation is a complex puzzle of many moving pieces that is often placed at the feet of an Arson or Fire Investigator in the middle of the night that is overworked and underpaid for the skills and ability they possess. Figuring out what took place in a fire has evolved over the last thirty years into a scientific field that takes years to learn and a lifetime to master. How the events of fire are captured and documented by Investigators are crucial to the outcome of any fire investigation. As a chief prosecutor, Miles Brissette was assigned to the Tarrant County Arson Task Force to assist the arson, bomb and fire investigators here in Texas and nationally investigate and successfully prosecute cases involving arsons, homicides as a result of an intentionally set fire and improvised explosive devices (IED). Working day in and day out Miles Brissette developed a national reputation as an attorney that understands what it takes to put together a solid fire investigation and lawsuit. This recognition is exemplified in his election to the Board of Directors for the Texas Chapter International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and the A Texas Advisory Council on Arson (ATAC). In 2012, A Texas Advisory Council on Arson (ATAC) named him the Texas Arson Prosecutor of the Year.
